Facilitators

 Facilitator Role and Responsibilities 

Facilitators are Institute students that have either graduated or completed their 2nd Year of Training and who facilitate study groups and also serve as student mentors. Facilitators are EPI Therapists-in-training, work under supervision and may also help with other needs of the Institute in terms of organizing the training.

Facilitators are responsible for:

  1. Teaching study groups.

  2. Providing support and guidance to students.

  3. Identifying when a student may be experiencing difficulties and developing a plan of support in collaboration with the Faculty.

  4. Having a good knowledge and understanding of training material, providing basic academic support and referring students as appropriate onto further sources of help.

  5. Contributing to the development of the training curriculum by communicating with the Faculty about how students are faring with their study load. 

  6. Attending Facilitator meetings. 

  7. Completing compulsory training as required. 

  8. Contributing to their immediate team and the Institute at-large, ensuring good communication and co-operation. 

  9. Recognizing their own limitations and working within them, seeking further support, guidance and supervision as necessary. 

  10. Ensuring any course or group they teach or facilitate is in line with Institute standards.

  11. Adhering to the Institute’s confidentiality policy when handling confidential and sensitive information.
