Structure and Policy

The Essential Psychotherapy Institute (EPI) is registered in Greece with Vedanta Aspioti as the sole proprietor. It is registered in the Greek Chamber of Commerce under VAT number 133215473. The organization is based in Greece and conducts trainings in Greece and the Netherlands.

Faculty: Vedanta, Ravi and Nikolaos are the three instructors of the training. 

Vedanta Aspioti is the primary instructor and trainer. She is the founder of the approach and organization director. 

As Director of the Institute, Vedanta is in charge of the following specific responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring that the Institute functions and develops according to its vision, mission and ethical standards.

  2. Exercising effective leadership in a joint effort with the staff, faculty and administration to implement the mission of the Institute.

  3. Demonstrating effective pursuit of the Institute’s goals and objectives for both the current year and the long term.

  4. Providing effective leadership and support for an academic program that is consistent with the Institute mission, the needs of those being served, sound standards of quality, and available resources.

  5. Developing a competent administrative organization and staff to ensure effective and efficient management of the Institute.

  6. Maintaining lawful, unbiased and efficient personnel programs, including: appointment of qualified persons to the faculty and staff and promotion, retention or dismissal for cause of the same. These programs should function in accordance with Institute’s policies and Ethical Standards.

  7. Working with the faculty in the development of the educational program

  8. Planning, in coordination with other administrators and faculty, the schedule of courses.

  9. Training, supervising, evaluating, and directing the work of assigned personnel

  10. Providing sound management of the budgets and financial plans. Budgets should reflect priorities of the Institute and facilitate their achievement.

  11. Interacting with appropriate external bodies, including accrediting groups, and professional associations, to achieve the mission of the Institute in a manner consistent with Institute policy and regulatory provisions, and sound academic principles.

  12. Overseeing and administering space and facilities planning process.

  13. Issuing degree certificates and granting final certification

  14. Other duties as they may arise.

Ravi Pagnamenta is the Institute’s Assistant Director, a teacher and trainer and a mentor to students and staff. 

As Assistant Director of the Institute, Ravi is in charge of the following specific responsibilities:

  1. Serving as Acting Director when the Director is absent.

  2. Demonstrating effective pursuit of the Institute’s goals and objectives for both the current year and the long term.

  3. Planning in tandem with the Director the content of the training.

  4. Conducting group and individual trainings in order to coach team members

  5. Providing mentorship to students, faculty and staff

  6. Planning, in coordination with other administrators and faculty, the schedule of courses

  7. Collaborating with the director with scheduling and coordinating short term and long term planning for the Institute

  8. Training, supervising, evaluating, and directing the work of assigned personnel.

  9. Advising the Director on Institute policies, programs and operations.

  10. Participating in team-based decision-making and supporting the decisions of the Director.

  11. Providing leadership in assessment and revision of the Institute’s Mission and Vision.

  12. Providing leadership across the Institute in support and implementation of the strategic plan.

  13. Supporting an environment that recognizes excellence and promotes a positive atmosphere of achievement and pride for students, faculty and staff.

  14. Serving as a member of the Ethical Committee.

  15. Other duties as they may arise.

 

Nikolaos Athanassakis is Director of Student Affairs, an trainer, teaching some courses along with Vedanta and Ravi and is also a counselor for students, advising on academic matters and providing supervision. 

As Director of Student Affairs of the Institute, Nikolaos is in charge of the following specific responsibilities:

  1. Providing oversight of assessment of Student Learning Outcomes

  2. Providing innovation and vision in instruction and program development in basic skills, vocational developmental programs

  3. Training, supervising, evaluating, and directing the Institute’s facilitators

  4. Overseeing testing and assessment

  5. Overseeing and updating learning materials

  6. Assessing student academic progress and potential

  7. Supporting and advising students regarding their academic planning needs

  8. Assisting students in making an academic plan

  9. Developing and implementing academic enhancement programs for students

  10. Assessing the Institute’s programs and implementing change if needed

  11. Recruiting potential students and marketing materials that support recruitment

  12. Maintaining the Institute’s website and Social Media presence

  13. Serving as a member of the Examination Committee

  14. Other duties as they may arise

 

Staff

Devi Legaki: Facilitator, Secretary

As the Institute’s Secretary, Devi is responsible for:

  1. Responding to email and phone calls from students and others

  2. Ensuring meetings are effectively organized

  3. Maintaining effective records and administration, including student files and financial records

  4. Acting as custodian of the Institute's documents

  5. Keeping a record of the Institute's activities and a diary of future activities

  6. Editing and translating written material

  7. Sitting in on administration meetings and disciplinary panels, as required.

  8. Keeping a record of any of the Institute's publications (e.g. books, manuals leaflets or newsletters)

  9. Reporting the activities of the Institute and future programs to students

  10. Preparing a report of the Institute's activities for the year, for the Annual General Meeting

  11. Assisting with travel and accommodation arrangements for Institute Faculty

  12. Keeping up-to-date contact details (i.e. names, addresses, emails and telephone numbers) of administration, faculty, staff and students

  13. Serving as a member of the Examination Committee

  14. Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Surya Cline: Operations Manager

As the Institute’s Operations Manager, Surya is responsible for:

  1. Working effectively with community groups, educational entities, business, industry, government and legislative bodies to develop partnerships which result in improved service to students and to the community. Identifying opportunities to create new income streams for the Institute.

  2. Overseeing the operations of the Institute and its various components, ensuring compliance with local and national policies and regulation.

  3. Developing or assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the Institute to ensure efficient and safe operation. 

  4. Representing the Institute at any local community and/or business meeting.

  5. Serving as a member of the Ethical Committee.

  6. Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
